6/7E Adventures through the cirulatory system

Class 6/7E- Write a story describing the journey of a red blood cell through the circulatory system. Use all the major organs in the circulatory system and all four chambers of the heart.  Your story must be creative and have personality. Write your name at the end of the story so I know who you are or no credit will be given. Have FUN!

You will be graded based on the following:
1. Content-use of the appropriate vocabulary words as they relate to the circulatory system/heart.
2. Creativity/Personality
3. Spelling

Hi I am Dave the red blood cell and I am going to tell you about my journey through the body. First I start will start in the right atrium which is the top right of the heart. Then I go to the right ventricle. Boy do I love it in there, now going on I go to the pulmonary artery and out of the heart. Now I go to the lungs to pick up some oxygen. Thanks for the oxygen lung. Then I ride on the pulmonary veins and I go back to the heart but this time on the left so I go to the left atrium then to the ventricle and I leave again and I become body cell and I can go to all parts of the body. I see capillaries I love seeing them. Finally I go to the vena cava and I start again. I HOPE YOU LOVED MY STORY.

Blog Story

“Yea I thought I would never be made phew”, said Armani. I’m in the right atrium and soon the right ventricle. It’s all so crowded around me so many others. It’s time to move to the next place. “Ouch”, said Armani as he hit the walls of the inside the body “This hurts.” I’m now in the right ventricle and the hearts pumping the other cells into the pulmonary artery. Then I shall Travel to the lung, then the pulmonary veins to the left atrium then the left ventricle then the aorta the body cells and finally the vena cava. That’s my life and everything I have to do. Goodbye and thank you for reading.

Sean the Red Blood Cell

My name is Sean and I travel through Zéshae Camacho Tittle’s respiratory and circulatory systems. Can you guess what I am? I am a red blood cell. I travel through capillaries, arteries, venules, the heart veins, and the arterioles. I don’t travel alone though. I travel with my mom, Millie, and my dad, Miles. They taught me how to flow (the order) little did they know, I knew it naturally.
They taught me how to pass through the whole circulatory system. First the right atrium next comes the right ventricle, then the pulmonary artery. After that comes the lungs, the pulmonary veins, the left atrium, the left ventricle, the aorta, the body cells, and finally the vena cava.

My name is Tiffany and I am a blood cell, I want to tell you about my journey throught the body. I start at the right atrium which will led me to the right ventricle. Wow, it's so crowded I am being pushed and pulled. but it is so fun here. Now I go to the pulmonary artery and out of the heart to the lungs, yeah time to get oxygen! finally to the pulmonary veins then I side back to the heart, but it's different, IT'S ON THE LEFT SIDE! so it means I am at the left atrium then to the ventricle, which made me flow out again, then i am in the aorta, now here I am now being a body cell, yeah! now i can go around the parts of the body.
I see capillaries many times and I do like watching them. I run and run untill I reach the final destination the vena cava and I START ALL OVER AGAIN, YAYYYYY!!

Hello my name is Ms.Sassie and I am a red blood cell. I am going to tell all you little blood cells about my journey through Sinead Kiernan. I started my journey in the right atrium which is the top of the heart. Then, I went to the right ventricle. Then i went to the pulmonary artery and then i have left the heart. After that I go to the lungs to get some oxygen. I always say thanks to the two lungs that supply me with the oxygen. Then i go to the pulmonary veins and get back into the heart but I go into the left side of the heart. I enter through the left atrium then ventricle and then I exit the heart once more and become a body cell. That is my favorite part because i can go anywhere in the body. Finally I go to the vena cava and I do it all over again. I am not the only blood cell in this body. There are millions and I am friends with a lot of them and they're all so very nice. They also have the same cycle as me! Thanks for reading all about my journey around the circulatory system! Sinead Kiernan 6/7 E

"Hi my name is Maggie," I told the right atrium.
"Hello,"it responded.
"I am about to begin my journey through the body!" i told the atrium.
"Very nice, have fun good bye!" the atrium said as i was slowly starting to drift down the atrium.
"Bye!" i shouted as i was flying out of the right atrium into the right ventricle."Ouch," i whispered to my self as i bumped into another blood cell.
"Sorry,"said the red blood cell.
"Its ok,"i said as i was going further away from the blood cell.
(I am 4 days old and i can live up to 4 months. So i am still new but i have been in the body long enough to know all the different paths.)
"Ah!" yelled a blood cell a few centimeters in front of me. As i was getting closer to the cell i noticed that i was about to be flung out of the right ventricle into the pulmonary artery. "Ah!" I yelped as i got pushed into the crowded artery. Voices were talking all around me as i was pushing through the crowded area. As i was being pushed and shoved i noticed that i was going to be shoved into the lungs. I loved being in the lungs it was so nice and decorated bubbles and there where paths everywhere you can look. "I dropped off some air Miss. Lung!" i shouted hoping she can hear me over all the other voices. "Thank you Maggie, now go get some more!" she shouted back.
"Ok," i responded proudly. in just a few moments i noticed that i was going to be pushed into the pulmonary veins. This was always the best part because the path is the most interesting part. Im getting pretty bored i thought to myself. I should hurry up and go to the left atrium. I quickly swarmed into the left atrium and then jumped into the ventricle. I love bouncing around in the ventricle. After i was about to be pushed out into the aorta i decided to take the third path to the right. Time to say goodbye to the heart! I then viciously turned into the maze of paths going in different directions. I fallowed the other blood cells that i recognized from class. As i was slowly drifting through the body cells, i noticed some white blood cells who were shoving through the crowd. As i was taking a new path i noticed that i bumped into the side of the heart that was called the pericardium After about 20 seconds i saw the vena cava walls and i knew that was home, "bye body!" i shouted as i slid into the warm comforts of home.

Hi Im Mr. Mushroom and I am going to tell you about my journey through Tamara's body. The first part of my journey is the right atrium the other blood cells and I go to the right atrium it's a lot of work but we can't stop. Then we rush to the right ventricle. After the right ventricle we move along to the pulmonary artery we are finally out of the heart. Next we have to go to the lungs and get some oxygen I sure did feel better after I got oxygen. Next is my favorite part the pulmonary veins after that we go to the left atrium and them we go to the aorta. Then I become a body cell and then the last part the vena cava. And after that we start all over again!

The Circulatory System.

Hey there! I’m the red blood cell. I have lot’s of family members for example, the heart is my mom because she control’s everything we do, and the lungs are my brothers. They’re always there for me matter what the case is. The lungs helps you breathe every time you breathe oxygen, it goes to the lungs.THe pulmonary artery’s carries blood from the heart to the lung.
Oxygen is my 1st cousin it helps me, it’s what you breathe without him you wouldn’t be able to breathe or be alive that’s why i love him. The lungs live on 168th street and Thoracic avenue. The vein is kind of like my train that i take every minute up and down your body with your blood. My aunts is the right atrium She takes the blood in your body and give more to me every time i need more blood. Her husband the left atrium receives oxygenated blood from the the pulmonary veins, and pumps it into it self by the atrioventricular valve.
My moms oldest sisters name is right ventricle when she contracts, she pumps oxygen. Her husband’s name is left ventricle he pumps rich water blood all over the body. The capillaries my best friends they are tiny vessels with walls that are only one cell thick. The aorta is my step brother he helps originate from the left ventricle of the heart and extends down to the abdomen, where it branches off into two smaller arteries. The arteries are the mean ones they take away blood from the heart but the blood is normally oxygenated.
Thats it thats my whole family.

Hello my name is Jordan. I am a white blood cell. I help fight off diseases that get into your body. I also help your blood clot if you get a cut so you don’t lose too much blood. Right now I am in the heart; I’ll give you a small tour of the Heart because I start work in about an hour. Right now we are in the right atrium. Our next stop is the right ventricles were the blood gets pumped out the heart and into the body. The next stop is the pulmonary artery were we, the blood, gets carried away from the heart. The next stop are the lungs, I am a white blood cell so I don’t give oxygen to the lungs I just protect it from diseases unlike red blood cells who do give oxygen to the major organs. Our next stop is the pulmonary veins here the blood circulates all over the body and organs to make sure there is nothing wrong with them. Oh no! There is a cut on the elbow lets use the pulmonary vein to get there. As a white blood cell I have to go clot the blood so the person will not be harmed. The cut is near I will be able to cut it. Wow that was a close call if the body loses 1 pint of blood they might get seriously injured or might even die. Well this is pretty much the end of the line we will go back to the heart, to the left atrium and then the left ventricle and the cycle will continue repeating until the body shuts down. Well it is time for me to go to work. Come back soon!

Hi my name is kayla I am a red blood cells and i going to tell you my life. I meet my friends at the heart we all go traveling. Next we stop at the arteries for a rest but Bob keep on going he is one of the fastest red blood cell I have ever seen.Next we stop at the capillaries is the best part we have fun there we jump and have fun. After a while we start again traveling and end up in the vein we are all over. After haveing a great time with my friend we go back to the heart. I traveled with my friends now i have to travel with my family I start at the right atrium with mommy daddy and miles my brother he is so annoying he always want to go all over the place but we always tell him that after starting at the right atrium we go to the right ventricle we hang out and be with the family then we start moving along and end up in the pulmonary artery i don't like being here because my mother meets with her friend and then they start talking and talking. I tell her to keep it up and i just go foward and end up in the lungs we move along fast there we just don't like the spot. We all go rushing and leave now we go to the pulmonary veins I hate that place more my father meets with his friends and start talking about baseball and basketball. I pull him and tell him that we don't have time we have to get to the venacava before sun set. I get tired and my mom holds me i didn't relize but while I was sleeping we past the left atrium and the left ventricle. I woke up and relize that I over slept and now I am at the aorta heading to the body cells. It almost getting dark and we need to be done with our work so we speed and get just in to the vena cava. I supper tired but here it is you have it my daily life has a red blood cell.

Hello, I’m Reed, the blood cell, and I’m traveling through this guy named Reed’s body. My journey starts in the heart, in the right atrium to be more specific. From there I travel with my other blood cell friends to the right ventricle. Then I start my journey out of human Reed’s heart thought the pulmonary artery. From there I go through the arterial to the lungs which I bring oxygen to. How awesome am I? Then I make my way out of there through the capillaries which consist of pulmonary veins. Then I go back to the heart where I enter through the left atrium. Then it’s just a short ride to the left ventricle, where there’s a wall called the septum, which separates us cool blood cells from the lame, slow blood cells. Then I leave the heart again through this huge artery called the aorta. From there I meet up with more blood cells, where we go to the vena cava. Then we all go back to human Reed’s heart. He should really thank us for the hard work we do.

Through the Circulatory System

I am a red blood cell and my name is Willy. I travel to many places everyday of my life. I am going to show you how I travel to places. The way I travel is by flowing along with the other blood cells. I have a best friend, Tony, I get to see him a couple time as we flow by each other. We all go in different speed limits to flow. So today I’m going to start the journey at the heart. The heart is my favorite place to be, because I feel like it’s a bouncy house as the heart pumps. As I travel around I love to other blood cells when I’m bored. We are starting at the heart at the right atrium. I told another cell, “Hey, did you know that the right atrium is a place we help the heart pump us to the right ventricle and that it sends us to the lungs,” I said. The other cell just turned away and ignored me. I guess some cells just like to do their jobs and not be distracted. After I was done talking to the other cell I notice that I had passed the right ventricle, pulmonary artery and I was already at the lungs. I had gotten tired at the lungs so I rested on a little bench after all the hard work. The thing that sucks about resting is that you can’t stay their for long. I usually fall a sleep when I don’t get enough sleep, but the good thing is that we just float to the places we’re supposed to go to. As I wake up I had no clue where I was, so I asked another blood cell, “Hey, I have a really fast question.”
“Yes?” He replies.
“Where are we?”I asked.
“We are in the human body,” he responded.
“No, I mean what part of the heart are we in?”
“Oh, I got it, we aren’t in the heart, we are in the arteries right now,” he said and then went to go talk to another cell.
So we are in the arteries? Oh great, the day is almost over. I must’ve slept for a while. I had passed the pulmonary veins, left atrium, left ventricle, aorta, body cells and the vena cava. So now I am flowing through the arteries. Now I am slowly drifting into the artericoles and then the capillaries. We are to go into a single file line as we go pass the wall. The capillaries is to connect arterioles and venules, and enable the exchange of water, oxygen, carbon dioxide, and many other nutrient and waste chemical substances between blood and surrounding tissues .Now we are going through the venules and now the veins. The veins are to transport blood but at the lower pressure, but it is not the strongest arteries. And then we come to the end of our journey, back to the heart again. This is how my life floats every time and I always restart every time I get to the heart.

Raxuba hopped on the artery train and was was off, again. It really is crowded here in the heart, everyone trying to do their job. He's on duty patrolling around the heart, he hates going through the capillary tunnels because they have very thin walls (only a cell thick) and they make him nervous. But he's not there to long because there's plans for him, he is pumped up to the lungs by the right ventricle, he gets' transported all over the body but he never gets' lost because he's a janitor. Raxuba doesn't really have a home because he's always everywhere and never in the same place for a long time. He like's cleaning the pulmonary artery and the pulmonary vain because he feel's special sense the pulmonary artery's the only artery with plentiful amounts of carbon dioxide and the pulmonary vain is rich in oxygen, it's like upper-class. Then when he's kicked out he takes the left ventricle to the rest of the body. Then Raxuba goes back to the heart but goes to the left side now. Then he becomes a body cell. He uses the vena cava and soon he will start the process again.-Mack Velle 6/7E

Once upon a time, a young red blood cell named BillyBob was going through the circulatory system in the body of FredGeorge. BillyBob started at the heart. Soon enough BillyBob was on his way to the right atrium. "Wow do I just love the right atrium," BillyBob said. Then BillyBob was on his way to the right ventricle. BillyBob thought that he shouldn't spend too much time in each place he goes, so he was on his way quickly. BillyBob had heard FredGeorge Breathe in and out so he was tryin as hard as he could to go faster. Once BillyBob got out of the Right Ventricle he went to the Pulmonary artery. Then BillyBob started to glide towards the lungs to pick up some air and then BillyBob sent himself to the left atrium. BillyBob was back in the heart again but his journey wasn't finished. He headed to the left ventricle and back into the center of the heart. Finally BillyBob was a body cell!!! BillyBob had seen all the capillaries and the vena cava. BillyBob went towards the vena cava to start the whole process over again

Hi, my name is Giulia, I am a red blood cell and I'm going to tell you my daily routinre.
We, the red blood cells, start our body journey in the heart. We enter in the heart by the right atrium, we pass in the right ventricle and go out by the aorta. After pass by the heart we go to pulmonary arterys of our human, that call Lucas; then we pass for the lungs, going for the pulmonary veins and one more time we ends up in the heart. But this time we enter in the other side, left, because now we are poor in oxygen, and we are going to the lungs to receive more, so now we pass in the left atrium, then we pass by the left ventricle, the aorta and then we travel all the way back to the lungs. We come back to the heart, after catch the oxygen, by the right side and we do all over again. We do this 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It's our hard work that makes Lucas stay alive every day of his life. And this is my routine; and from other millions of bloos cells that you and Lucas have around your bodies.

I am a blood cell that is called kelvin cell. I am in a trip that I have to take with my parents.I have to go to the heart to get punped. I first have to go to the right atrium. Then I have to go to the right ventricle. Its a hard thing to do but somebody has to do it. Next, I have to go to the pulmonary arterry were I head straight to the lungs. I pass to the lungs and go to the pulmonary veins. Then, i switch sides by going to the other side of the atrium. The left atrium. I go next to the left ventricle and striaght to the aorta. But some cells won't let me in so I have to senk in by going to a hole. Then I go to tracific in the body cells. Finally, I made it to the vena cava and pass the pacemaker and septum. Now I am in the human circulatory system. I have to start again at the heart and go to the arteries. Its like am starting all over again.

Jelly The Red Blood Cell
By: Lisi Hilario

Hello, my name is Jelly Pobini. I am going to tell you a story about how i travel through my human, John Polini. I am a red blood cell and I will tell you my daily job.

I start at my human, John's heart and then I travel with my friends to the arteries. We move to the arteries so it can receive us blood cells. Then, we go to the arterioles. That is where my best friend Jakie is and some of my friends live. After that, I move to the capillaries and some of us stay there to live. Some of us form a thick wall while others move to the venules.

Meanwhile, some of my friends and I go to Pikajel, the veins king. When we are at the veins, we must spread around the heart and return back to it. This is what I do for John, my human, to survive in the world. This is my daily job.

You may think I am done, but you are wrong. I also must start at John's right atrium, then I gotta go to the right ventricle. Next to it, the septum is located there too. I am tracing the flow of blood through John's heart. Now I gotta go to the pulmonary artery and the lungs. Then the pulmonary veins.

Now we must go to the left atrium and the left ventricle. The aorta is next and it's located in the heart. Now we go to the body cells and the vena cava is last. Most of us stay around the heart, while others return to the right atrium.

This is where we start all over and do my daily jobs. This is why John is alive and human. My job is most important because I am the reason why John lives.

The End

Hi, my name is Rosie. I’m a red blood cell and I’ll be your tour guide today through the circulatory system. You can ask your questions at the end. We start our journey in the Right Atrium. Then we go down to the Right Ventricle. Lets all stay together now as we make our way to the arteries. Now were in the pulmonary artery and were coming up to my personal favorite part of the tour, the lungs. The lungs and the heart play a big part in the circulatory system. The veins are also important they transport us, the oxygen rich blood, through the body. Speaking of the veins we are in them right now. This part of the tour is the longest because we have to go the farthest distance. We have to go though the whole body. Don’t you just love the circulatory system? I do. Oh, here we are. We are back in the heart. We are in the Left Atrium and as I speak we are being pushed down to the Left Ventricle. We are almost done with our tour so get all your things together. And I will be taking questions now. Yes, you in the back.
“Where are we?” said the red blood cell. We just passed through the aorta and now we’re in the vena cava. I think we have time for two more questions. Ok, you in the blue shirt.
“Me?” said the red blood cell. No, you.
“Me?” said another red blood cell. Yes, you. What’s your question?
“Well, I was wondering what the wall between the left and right side of the heart is called.” That’s a great question. It’s called the Septum. Its what prevents blood with and without oxygen from mixing. Last question, um how about you in the front.
“What’s a Pulmonary Vein?” said the red blood cell in the front.
It’s the only vein in the body rich in oxygen. Ok, time to wrap up our tour. It’s been fun, but I have another group waiting. Have a nice day!

AS air grew up floating around in the parks seeing little kids breath us up. My parents always told me to stay away so I didn’t get sniffed up. Although I didn’t know much but I knew enough to stay away. My parents told me it was a transformation from a little kid into an adult. In time this transformation would come.
Twelve years later………….
Now that I was thirteen I was told it’s time for my transformation. I now had to go near the kids it was time for me to learn what needed to happen. I needed to go through the human circulatory system. This was the way to become an adult. As the next day came I saw lots of other kids I knew preparing for the transformation as well. We all went near this little girl. She sniffed us up just like a vacuum. As soon as we were in we went passed the nasal passage. Going on a straight drop down to the pharynx. Then down again to the larynx which lead to the trachea. At the bottom there where two tunnels right and left. I chose right because I am a righty. I passed through the right bronchi and into the alveoli.
I was met there by some carbon dioxide that helped me in and I helped her out. Once there I got transfused with a red blood cell. I was now like the brain and I controlled it. After the lungs I went to the pulmonary veins which are rich in oxygen blood cells like me. I went to the left atrium and saw others like me. I followed others to the left ventricle. The aorta was next on the list of places to visit. The body cells are what we saw next in the girl’s body. Vena cava is what leads us out to the body. I went to see the arms legs and even the little toes. I went back to the heart because I was out of oxygen to hand out to the muscles.
I retuned to the heart in the right atrium. I passed through the right ventricle as well. I went to the pulmonary artery which leads me to the lungs. Instead of waiting to be met by more oxygen I got breathed out by some miracle. Some of the other one could stay there for a long but I got out. I had come in a kid and emerged an adult. I was ready to live my life and pass on my knowledge to some other kid who needed to know. My transformation is complete and I Shelby have emerged with knowledge of the human circulatory system.
