Q:What is this article about?
A:This article is about how to save the sunflowers that are being wiped out by climate change by collecting seed from all the types of sunflowers and planting them so the species can continue.
Q:How does this article connect to what we are learning in science class?
A:This shows how climate change can change things out of their natural habitat. Also if we don't stop the things we are doing to the environment now the world will get worse and worse.
Q:What did learn from this article?
A:I learned that climate change is real problem in the world and if we do not stop now things will get out of hand and natures natural life cycle will be thrown off and the it will be utter chaos.
Q: What are two questions you have after reading this article or about plants in general?
A:How do you get the seeds from the sunflowers?
How does climate change affect other animals?
This article's about how to preserve many different plant species which are and are not endangered. This article connects to what we're learning in class since they are both about their affect on us and other things and our affect on them. I learned that like animals, there are many different plant species endangered. I also learned that seeds from the plants are being replanted in different gardens around the world and this will help the species grow again. After reading this article a have a few questions. One of my questions are, how does global warming contribute to the extinction of plant species. Another question I have is, why would one plant become extincted before the other?

What is this article about?
This article was about climate change can be likely to be very rapid and that seeds only disperse a few hundred yards, half a mile at most, naturally when they start to grow. If you help plants move we will not have to search harder for them.
How does this article connect to what we are learning in science class?
This article connects to what we are learning in science class because we are learning about plants and what they do to enviorments and other species just like this article.
What did learn from this article?
I learned that with those mixed results in mind, scientists from the botanic garden are sending teams out across the Midwest and West to the Rocky Mountains and Great Basin to collect seeds from different populations of 1,500 prairie species by 2010, and from 3,000 species by 2020. The goal is to preserve the species and, depending on changes in climate, perhaps even help species that generally grow near one another to migrate to a new range.
What are two questions you have after reading this article or about plants in general?
2 questions that I have are why are plants failing in the north? And In 50 to 100 years, because habitats or climates are so altered, why might we might end up trying to move species in a restoration context, in assemblages of species
I think the article is about that the spices(plants, and how the scientists from a couple of places in the U.S. is trying to save the plants. That they are thinking of ways so they can help the plants. Some of the ides was using this vault that is -4°F. This connects to class, is that we are working on plants, and that we are learning about how they are very helpful to humans' and other organisms. I learned that the plants will get instinct. Also that most of the plants wouldn't be able to live around the Texas weather.
Why do plants need water and sun to grow? why can't it be grown like humans, by food?
Why can't plants live in any type of weather?
This was a very good but complex article. But the main idea of this article is about saving different species. In this article it informs the reader on how the plants/species on the North are endangered, and that they have to move them. That is what the whole debate is about between all the scientists.
In many ways this reading connects on what were learning in science. Were learning about medicinal plants, and how we need these plants because they're so important in our daily lives. We have been sharing and sharing facts about our different medicinal plant. Also we have been learning on World Biomes. These plants also do affect the World Biomes in many ways and the climate change, which is very important. Most recently beside medicinal plants we have been studying plants since its part of our plant unit and we learned and been looking on plants outside of school. Especially since the climate change we've been comparing, studying and looking, on how different leaves change color and need different weather to survive. That's how this article connects to what we are learning in science class.
I learned a whole bunch from this article that I haven’t learned before. For example seed species in North America are endangered severely and that we have to help them. Also what I didn't know is that we have lavatories collecting and consuming seeds, for later on in life. Also I didn’t know scientist intend to collect 25%of world’s flora by 2020. Also that seed are stored in banks to. For example seeds are stored at the National Center for Genetic Resource Preservation, in Fort Collins. The most shocked of all of this is the process all of this work takes. All the data they have to collect the contributions and that hard stuff, collecting data for these plants and even scientist are having trouble figuring this out. Other people are stuck in this debate on what to do and are having troubles with that to. So yes I have earned a lot form this article that I never knew before.
Do you think all of this work is worth it, knowing the amount of money your wasting, especially since this country is in the times were in Recession?
Do you think the world will still be here since all that talk about global climate change and 2012, and do you think you'll ever get a chance if our climate change never slows down and it keeps on getting worse?
Or will they'll be a time were scientist could know when to just put them out?
The article A Hunt for Seeds to Save Species, Perhaps by Helping Them Move is about saving plant species. The article is related to our study in class which is plants in general, the passage is all about plants and how to save them and we are studying plants.I learned that seeds only disperse a few hundred yards. One question I have is how many medicinal plants are in the botanical garden? Another one is what is the seed bank so popular or important for?
The article is about plants and other places of plants and what happen with them like how are they doing or growing. For example the plants in the south are doing well but the plants on the north are really failing and are not growing very healthy like the one in the south. Also as it said that the scientists are trying to make a goal which is to collect as many seeds from different populations by 2020.
This connects to what we are learning because we`re learning about plants so this can be really helpful because its telling us what`s going to happen with the plants in the future or even now. This also important because we are learning about parts of it and it is really helpful if we know what else does plants provide us besides oxygen.
I learned much from this article like i never knew that scientist would ever pay so much attention to plants anymore (thats what i thought) Also i never knew that the scientist are collecting as much seeds at each population by 2020 i wonder what they will do with it?
Well my questions are:
1. What will they do with the plants in the future?
2. Are they enough plants (oxygen) for us in the future? If so how many?

i think this article is very important because it explains to people that people are working very hard to make sure our future is good and that plants will thrive if we keep working.

This article is about a scientist who sent teams out across the Midwest and west to the rocky mountains and Great Basin to collect seeds from different populations of 1,500 prairie species by 2010 and 3,000 by 2020.
This article is the same to what we are learning in class because what we are learning about medicinal plants and how the help us feel better and this article is about how we can save them by moving them around.
what I learned in this article is that people are sending teams around the Midwest and the West to plant over three thousand seeds to make sure that we never run out of medicinal plants.
Two questions I have is one where are they going to get all those seeds? And two is how do they know that all the plants they planted in 2010 are all going to grow by 2020?
"A Hunt for Seeds to Save Species, Perhaps by Helping Them Move"
This article is about a species of flowers that are in danger of extinction because they are unable to grow where they currently are, so scientists are trying to move them to somewhere they can grow, so they don't disappear completely. Many species of plants are having this problem.
This article connects to science class because we are studying plants and we are going to plant tulip bulbs so they can grow nicely.
I learned that scientists are going to have a lot of trouble predicting which species will have trouble growing and which they have to move, thanks to climate changes. I hope they figure this out!
One question I have on this article is which species are in trouble, because I am curious to find out. Also, I would like to know the whole process of transporting the plants, how it's done, etc.
This article is about saving the sunflowers that are endangered. Also planting new ones.
How this article connects to what we are doing is because we are also focusing on plant but we are focusing on medicinal plant and those plants are sunflowers.
I learned that it is not that easy for sunflowers to survive because they cant ask for things like we can.
How do you actually help things or animals that are endangered.
the article is about plants migrating and being saved, the article connects to what we are in class because we are talking about the parts of a plant.i learned that scientist are trying to keep plant species for until 2010 through 2020. my questions are: are plants really getting wiped out? i dont have another question

What is the article about?
The article is about people helping out to save our environment. What is going on is that people are collecting seeds and the scientist are scanning it. What is again going on is that the scientist are not also scanning it, but also predicting what might happen in the future. The scientist are trying to save this community. This cause might be global warming, so if it is global warming, then lets pitch in and help.
How does this article connect to what we are learning in science class?
This article connects to what we are learning in class is because were kind of doing something similar. It’s similar because scientist collects seeds, and they write data about the seed. We get leaves, and then we also write data over it. We are like scientist.
What did you learn from this article?
I learned that our environment is getting worse everyday. I think global warming is getting worse and hanging everything. It’s killing our flowers/ seeds, it’s changing our temperature, and their is new animals being located around the world.
What are two question you have after reading this article or about plants in general?
How are plants being scanned and used for data in labs, and by scientist.
How do people find seeds without buying any plants or vegetables.- Ballamoussa Kourouma

This article is about scientists from Chicago are taking seeds from plants and planting thenm to save the species.
We are learning about how plants use seeds from there plant to make new plants. In this they were getting the seeds out.
I learned that flowers could go extinct. Also you can take seeds out of a flower.
I have 2 questions. How do you take out seeds from a flower? Also how long does it take?
this article is about an effort to save a species. not just any species, not even an animal species. this article is about trying to save sunflowers. they were growing plentifully around the finger lakes, but lately, as it gets colder around there, they are dying out. in science class we are learning about plants, their characteristics, and their life cycles. these plants might be going extinct because of climate change. i learned that animals are not the only the things that can go extinct. i also learned about the extensive equipment that could help turn back the clock for many species of plants. my first question would be: what is the process of natural elimination for plants? another question is: once the seeds have been frozen, will they still grow, and how will they defrost them?
This article is about sunflowers that can't grow in their habitat because of climate change.
This article relates to what were doing in class because we are learning about plants and medicinal plants so reading this article can show us how we can help them.
I learned that climate change can affect our plant in a huge way and that we should pay more attention to our plants and find more ways to protect them.
My questions are: How will these plants adapt to their new habitat?
If a lot of plants die will it affect our oxygen?
This article is about how many plants are in danger and instinked. Because of the climate changing. It's talking about how we need to find seeds and plant plants so the species could continue. This article connects to what we are talking about in science class because we are discusing about medicinal plants. How we need them in our daily life to calm our pain and compared to the article it tell's you how we can save them because they are important in our lives. I learned that climate change also efect's the plants. i learned that scientists are looking for seeds all around the world like the rocky mountains and planting more of the different species. I learned that scientists are sending teams around the world to find seeds. I learned that plants grow in certain habitats. I wonder, why cant plants cant grow in any type of weather? I wonder, what would happen if there isn't enough seeds? Would we still live?

Why are plants failing in the north?
The article is about plants in danger of decreasing. People are collecting seeds from sunflowers so plants and species can keep growing.
The article relates to what we are learning in class because the class is on the suject. Also we are planting plants in the garden and helping species and nature.
I learned that species need help to develop and we are the only people that can help them. Also if we don't act fast things will go bad for nature.
Here are some of my guestions I have to ask.
How long does it take you gather up the amount of seeds you need or do you keep collecting as much as you can?
would you like a different way to help species?
This article is about how to save sunflowers that are getting destroyed by climate change, by collecting the seeds from different sunflowers you can replant them in safer locations. Climate change is affecting things around us, like taking things from their natural habitat. Well, I learned that climate change is affecting the world around us. It is has a big effect in all things natural. My questions are "How is climate change caused?" and "Does climate change effect other species?"
A Hunt for Seeds to Save Species, Perhaps by Helping Them Move is about scientists that care about the environment, and they are trying to save species that are endangered, and plants too. They interviewed different scientists and they had different things to say about what they had done. What they did was similar to what we did in class because we helped the environment by picking up the trash and litter off of the ground, and they also tried to help the environment. I learned a lot of things from this article, but one of them was that botanic gardens and other institutions have sent 65 teams across the Country which so far have collected groupings of 3,200 species. Two questions that I have about this article are why does in the beginning it say “possibly by helping them move?”, I’m confused because in the article I don’t recall hearing anything about that. My other one is, what is a pitchers thistle? Is it a plant? I’m not sure.

This article is about how to preserve certain plant species that may or may not be endangered. The species would be saved by assisted migration.
This article relates to what we are learning in class because we are also learning about how important plants are to use humans. We are learning about herbs and this article talks about how we can help save herbs and plants that create our medicine.
From this article I learned what assisted migration is. I also learned that the American Beech tree was very rare during the Ice Age, but now it is more common then most trees due to assisted migration. My first question is are there any plant species that cannot be planted by assisted migration? And my second question is what are the risks if some of the plant species go extinct?
A.The article was about sunflowers being wiped out by the climate change. We can help the sunflowers by collecting the seed from the sunflowers. So the sunflowers can live.
B. This relates by showing how the climate changing is making huge wounds in our community. We can help heal those wounds by stop polluting the earth and help more around our communitys.
C.I learned how we could help the earth. Also that climate change is a huge problem in the world. We can help in many ways.
D.How do people get the seeds out of sunflowers?
How is the climate change wiping the sunflowers out?As in: Is the climate change ruining their water resources?
This article is about helping sunflowers that are affected by climate change by collecting their seeds. They will plant the seeds again so that they will grow again.
It connects to what we are learning in science class because we are learning about plants and leaves. Also, we will be planting seeds and seeing if they grow.
I learned that climate change is affecting many different things. Species could become extinct because of it, and that would change the balance in some places.
Two questions I have are: Are the flowers being in trouble harming other animals? Is this happening to other kinds of flowers?
The article is about saving plant species because climate change is causing a lot of flowers to go extinct. The project is called “Seeds of Success”. It goes around looking for all the un-protected seeds and taking them out of changed climates and into a botanic garden where they can be taken care of.
In class we are learning about plant species and medicinal plants. In this article they are trying to save flower species from becoming extinct because of climate change. It connects to what we are doing on class because it talks about how plants can come extinct and in class we recently learned how plants protect themselves, but they can’t protect themselves from climate change. That’s why scientists are helping all flower species from becoming extinct.
I never new a plant could become extinct. I thought that only happened to animals. I also didn’t know about this project that helps save flower species. I never thought about plants being affected by climate change. I only thought about the animals such as polar bears being affected.
2 questions:
How does the organization find every flower species? How do they know they have them all?
Where did this idea come about? Who thought of saving every flower in the US?
This aticle is about how to save sunflowers that are going extinct because of the climate change.Sientists are collelecting seeds frome different sunflwers to stop them from total extingtion.
This connects to what we learned because it effects humans and the plant.I really liked this article because it tought me alot of things I didnt know. I learned that climate change is a big deal to plants. I used to think that plants would just addapt to their habbitats climate. I wondered why in 50 to 100 years we will have to move plants and why are plants diying in the north?
1. This story is about how people collected the seeds. They planted then. And made a garden. The people got the seeds from different lakes.
2. This article connects to what I learn in science class is how the kingdoms have plants. They use the plant to make food. And the flowers help the animals.
3. I learn that people in the 1990 that they used the seeds to mke food. THey leared how to make the plants move. They also learned how to use the garden to make food.
4. One question I have is how people got the seeds from the lakes. My second question is how do the people move the plants and they are still alive.
This article is about saving sunflowers that are dying because of the climate changes in the world. In science class we talk about how climate changes affect plants and animals in the world and this article connects to those conversations. I learned that plants are very important to our environment and if we don't help these plants, the animals who eat these plants will die and the habitat will be ruined.I also learned that if we change our ways, these plants can survive the climate changes for a longer period of time. One question I have is how do plants make their own food and humans can't? Another one is wha will humans do if we don't change our ways and most of the plants and animals die in the world?
This article is about how a botanical garden is trying to assist the migration of thistles to other climates other than the prairie. This connects to our studies in the sense that we are helping to grow tulips in a place that they would not naturally grow in. I learned that this species of thistles does not normally grow with other types of thistles in the northern United States. I also have a few questions. For instance, Can another plant be assisted in this way? Also, has a program like this been done before?
This article is about a plant that live in the midwestern. It is not doing so well scientist are collecting their seeds to plant elsewhere. They were planted in chicogo along the cost and near wisconsin. the used to live near sand dums. The scientist are worried and they might not be around for long if the climate stays like this.
This article connects to what we are doing in class because we are learning about plant and how some of them are dieing out because of globle warming. the have problems trying to fin new homes for the plant. The way things are now are making it hard for plant to get what they need so we need to change what we are doing.
We learned how important it is to change and to help plants because it is what helps us and other species to live and to polonate other flowers and this affects the whole food chane staring with the plants.
why not send seed all over and see where they thrive the best? Also how can have such vibrant colors?
What is this article about?
This article is about how they are trying to send seeds to the Midwest, west to the Rocky, and Great Basin to help the plants from dieing or getting extinct.
How does this article connect to what we are learning in science class?
This article connect to what we are learing because right now we are learing about medicinal plants and parts of a plant and in the article they are talking about plants and trying to save them from climate change.
What did you learn from this article?
I learn that climate change is affecting the world alot. It have become a seies promblem. We can't stop climate change but we can try to do what the scientist are doing and try to pick up plants and then send it to another part of the world. It would help the plants alot.
What are two question you have after reading this article or about plants in general?
Why in the south dunes the plant are doing really well and in the north is doing really bad and they are failling? Isn't North suppoes to be doing well.
What is the difference between a regular plant species and a native plant species or they been the same thing?
This article is about scientists are looking at plants because some are not growing like they're suppose to. Many plants are dying from climate change.
This connects with us in science class because we are planting seeds and we're going to see if they grow or not.
I learned that climate change is affecting a lot of plants and that it will mess up a lot of things in the world.
What animals are affected by this?
Will this mess up the food chain?
This article is about saving different plant species from climate change. In this unit we are learning about plants and the different plant kingdoms.
I learned that there are lots of plant species being affected by the climate change , and many scientists and botanists are trying to make these plant species adapt to different climate conditions so they would not die out.
#1 what can people do to help these plant species ?
#2 how long does it take a plant to adapt to a new enviornment ?
This article is about plants that are not growing so well. What scientists from botanic garden is sending teams to places to help the plants. What they are doing is they are collecting seeds and preserving them and other things to make them grow. This article connects to science class because we are learning about plants and how the climate change affects he way they grow. I learned that in other places of the world plants do not always grow on time nor at all. Also how other people is really trying to help it. Plus how we as humans have to try our very best to stop because the climate is changing fast. Two questions I have is, how much affect happens when plant are late in growth? Also what is 5 ways to help stop climate change?

1. What is this article about?
This article is about how scientist are moving plants to save them from extinction. The Dixon seed bank at the Chicago Botanic Garden houses not only species from the tall grass prairie, but also natives of the bogs, dunes and other ecosystems in the prairie region.
2. How does this article connect to what we are learning in science class?
In class we are learning about medicinal plants and plants that bloom to early. That connects to what we’re doing because we are taking about how plants are blooming earlier and some plants only have a week to live until the pollen is taken.
3.What did learn from this article?
I learned that people are putting plants in captivity to they can live and bloom on time. In class one day we say what happened with deer on a work sheet when they got rid of the predators and there was no more hunting and the deer population gained rapidly.
4. What are two questions you have after reading this article or about plants in general?
What type of plants can live up to 2 months without getting pollinated. Who do people get the plants to put captivity.
This article is about seeds that are under seige because of climate
change. This article talks about pants & population just like in life science. It talks about how
things affect thins too. I learned
how things affect the envirment &
how global warming affects the ecosystem. I would like to learn more about this. What is a postglacial population? Also, why are economists? (double checking)
1.The article is about the world having to save sunflowers so that they don't all die out
2.It connects to what we are learning bacause we are learning about the enviornment.
3.I learned that the sunflowers are dying so we have to help save them
4.How do they live in different types of weather. What do they do to survive

I learned much from this article like i never knew that scientist would ever pay so much attention to plants anymore (thats what i thought) Also i never knew that the scientist are collecting as much seeds at each population by 2020 i wonder what will happen to the plant if we dont help?
i think this passage is about how people are finding ways that they can save plant by having people from all over the united states to come and help.these people are also trying to get seeds from
different populations so that they can grow the plant.their goal is to preserve species depending on the changes in the climate. they are also growing flowers so that species that grow near them can also grow in a different place. this connects to what we are learning in class because during classs when we are in the garden we also plant seeds and wait until they grow into a flower.the things that i learned about this is how in the 1990s seedscollected from different parts of the thistle's range were grown at the Chicago Botanic.i also learned that in 50 to 100 years because habitates are so altered they might end up trying to move species in restoration context. why are they moving the species? what happens if something happens?
In the article A HUNT FOR SEEDS TO SAVE SPECIES, PERHAPS BY HELPING THEM MOVE. Are about the climate changes, and it’s also about the pitchers thistle. And it is about how the climate changing and how that is affecting the seeds and how they grow.
This connects to what we are doing in science class because we are planting bulbs at the garden in the parking lot. And we were cleaning up in the schoolyard for preparation for when we plant the tulips. What I learned from this article is that the climate change is really hurting the environment. And that when the climate changes then most other things change.
What if we all adapted to the climate changes then what would happen? And what if the climate change had stopped then what would we do.

This article is about different plant species going extinct because of climate change. A project called "seeds of success" helps to take the seeds out of their environment and move them into a botanic garden where they will thrive. The project is going to take many years and is going to cost lots of money. But if they don’t protect the endangered seeds, the species are going to go extinct.
In class were studying the life cycle of plants and medicinal plants. In this article they are trying to protect plant species from going extinct. This relates to what were learning in class because we learned the different stages of a seed and one of the stages is Dispersal. A problem in this article they describe is that the plants disperse their seeds only up to a half-mile away. That’s why they’re taking some seeds and moving them, to keep the species safe. We also learned how plants take care of themselves and protect themselves, and what would cause them to not be able to keep themselves safe.
In this article I learned about this project that is committed to saving these plant species. I also learned that plant seeds only disperse from 100 yards to half mile at most. I didn’t know that, I thought that plants seeds could travel in the wind for 100s of miles! I didn’t think that plant dispersal would ever have an effect on a species. I also wasn’t aware that climate change (global warming) had that big an effect on plants seeds.
2 questions:
How do the people in "Seeds of Success" count how many species of seeds they have? Their goal is to get 3,000 species of seeds by the year 2020. How will they keep tract of 3,000 seed species and keep all the different types of seeds separated?
How are they going to be able to pay 500 million dollars for this project? The country is already having economy problems.
This article is about people saving endangered plants that are being wiped out by climate change by collecting seeds and planting them
It connects to what we are learning in science because they are both about plants
I learned all about saving plants with seeds. It was awesome!
Q1: Is planting seeds going to cause invasive species problems?
Q2: I s there any prairie habitat left to restore these plants into?
1.This article is about scientists trying to save plant species by moving them to different areas because of climate change and playing with the complexity of habitats. 2.This article connects to what we are learning in science class because we have studied how well plants thrive in different environments and how different types of plants are different and how they survive. 3.I learned that climate change and playing with the environment is threatening the extinction of species of many plants. Scientists are trying to help my moving plant species into different areas to try to help them not to go extinct. 4.Are other countries facing the same problems with plants being endangered or almost extinct? If other countries are, how many countries are doing something about it?
